If you do not have a measuring tape available, you can always use a length of string or ribbon and measure up the length against a ruler or yardstick. While taking measurements, remember not to wrap your measuring tape too tightly so as to allow for a comfortable fitting. Height: With your child standing straight, measure from the top of the head to the floor (without shoes). For infants, lie your child down and take an approximate measure from the top of the head to the base of the foot. Chest: Lift your child's arms slightly and measure around the body, crossing over the fullest part of your child's chest. Waist: Measure around the waistline, crossing just below your child's navel, and providing allowance for a comfortable fit. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your child's hips. |
